Voici Filou!

Mes cheres soeurs!

Merci pour cet beau cadeau! My human came back from the her holiday vacation bringing back the cutie fluffy puppy you sent me! I'm thrilled!! His name is Filou. I love him, thank you!

He's been keeping me company. He likes to lick my polished nails so that they dry faster, and I've trained him so that he brings my magazines to me. What a useful little pup!

(I must say he's complaining a lot about that blue bow that he's wearing, though)

So here's a pic of Filou and me. Please pardon my lack of fashion sense. My human brought that outfit and I felt like out for the "That 70's show". I took it off as soon as the pic was taken! This is the 2010's!!

We also have 2 new foster sisters here. One is young Britta. She's a sweet girl and doesn't mess up with me at all. She enjoys spending her time baking cookies and cooking Swedish things. Since she's mainly in the kitchen all day I don't see her much actually!

Nicki-bree came to live with us too. She's only 9 and very innocent stillShe actually hangs out with Britta a lot, as well as with Linden. . She likes animals so that's why she kinda connects with Linden. She's a sweetie because she takes Filou for walks!

And guess what? My super cool friend Kelly Grace is back! It seems she finally climbed down from "the fence"... I don't know what is it about that fence. I heard the human said "she's on the fence". Well the darn fence must've fallen or something because she's here! Yaaay! So cool.

Caitlin, Chrissa, and Hannah went to other homes. We miss them but the human assured us that they were happy in their new families.

Well I think that's it for now. I have to go see what I'll wear tomorrow.

New Year, New Friend, New Pet

Dearest Claudette,

A few of our friends have moved out, including cousin Véronique who has gone back home to finish the next school term in France. It was so sad to say goodbye to her at the airport!

Before she left, a stray followed us home and decided to live here:

Then a few days ago we added a roommate. She's nice, but she keeps me up all night with her dancing and drum beats and I find pieces of leis all over the house (even a flower in my breakfast cereal this morning). Can a person get sick of ukelele music? The answer is YES!

Her name is Kanani and she's been wearing the same two outfits for four days. I hope she'll decide to wash her clothes. I'm willing to share some of mine. She was invited to live here by one of the mini-humans and she's getting a lot of attention. Don't worry Claudette, eventually it will all wear off and Lucie and I will reign once again.

The human family went back to the mountains at the end of December and Kirsten went along. I think she goes because she has more winter gear than the rest of us girls ever will. Snowshoes, a thick winter coat, lots of hats, even a sled. She said it was fun. The families stayed in a huge house by a creek that was noisy and running fast (good thing Kirsten didn't fall in). The second day there it snowed the entire day and Kirsten went outside to play in the snow. She went out the next morning and almost slipped on the ice.

Kirsten said she would share her pictures. Maybe in the next blog post.

We miss you, sister. Someday you'll have to hitch a ride from Mexico and visit us!

About Lucie Esmé:

Favorite past-time: Hiking, travel, getting outside so the rest of the world can meet her.

Lucie is a triplet, born in a small village near Lyon, France. When her two sisters, Juliette and Claudette, enrolled in a student exchange program, she decided to participate as well. Lucie wants to see the world, make lots of friends, and perfect her English. She and Juliette are now living in Southern California with several new roommates, pets, and humans. She posts on the blog more than Juliette does, since she likes to use it as an excuse to put off her studies. She’s a fairly good student, but getting outside and visiting new places is more ~~important to~~ exciting for her.

Lucie is NOT a girly-girl. While living in France, she could be seen biking in the countryside, touring vineyards, getting away with her parents during vacations to hike up the steps of Mont Saint-Michel, and helping in the outdoor markets. Lucie is rarely seen in a dress; she prefers pants, shorts, or capris. She is embracing the Southern California lifestyle and is taking surfing lessons almost every weekend. She hopes to go to Yosemite this summer for a hiking and camping trip. Her sister will probably be at home with her nose in a book, so Lucie is looking for volunteers to travel with her to the mountains.

Juliette was born in a small village near Lyon, France and recently enrolled in a student exchange program with her two sisters, Lucie and Claudette. She and Lucie are now living in Southern California with several new roommates, pets, and humans. She sends texts to her sister Claudette in Mexico several times per week.

Juliette studied pastry making at a little-known pâtisserie in rural France during her summers off from school. She jokingly refers to it as "Pâtisserie Camp". When not looking up decadent recipes, Juliette can be seen trudging off to the beach every weekend to watch her sister Lucie take surfing lessons. Juliette is an expert at packing the cooler, but she doesn’t mind tagging along because she brings a cold drink, an umbrella, and her favorite mystery stories to read at the beach. Juliette would like to return to France one day to open her own pâtisserie.

Pets: Her terrier, Filou, who is a sibling to Miette and Trésor.

Claudette was born near Lyon, France. She enrolled a foreign exchange student program along with her sisters Juliette and Lucie. They went to live in Southern California and she's in Queretaro, Mexico.
She is a very outspoken girl, usually for a good cause, but sometimes gets into trouble. Her intentions are always good, though. She knows she's beautiful and she's not afraid to show it.
