Ma chère soeur Claudette,
Filou looks happy and I'm so glad she made it safely to your new home. Our little ones are currently sleeping but we'll take pictures of Filou's siblings, Miette and Trésor, very soon!
So "fille de neige" got to go to the mountains again this year. Remember I mentioned the annual trek to the frozen tundra? Kirsten went last year and was the star of the week, busying herself with lots of photo-shoots and attention from the locals. She got to go again this year AND she even got to paint ceramics and make Beligian waffles.
What do I have to do? Buy some snowshoes and a winter coat? I don't have a lot of use for a winter coat at the beach. Anyway, Kirsten gave me her pictures from the trip.
They arrived to sunny skies and warm temperatures. I think the mini humans were worried they wouldn't see snow. But by the morning of the third day, they got their wish. The first afternoon, and well before the snowstorm, Kirsten went down to the creek. It looked really cold. Here she is putting on her gloves.

She put on her warmer coat as the sun started to go down. It was really cold!

One morning they woke up and it was snowing and continued into the afternoon. The little humans were very excited since it was only their second time in the snow.

Kirsten relaxing in the living room by a warm fire. She kept her sweater and hat on all day.

Felicity and Elizabeth went outside the next morning to see the snow. It had melted a little the day before, then froze, so they were careful walking on the ice. Kirsten followed and had some pictures taken too. I guess Lissie and Liz got to go because of their capes? Who knows.

After an hour putting snow chains on two cars and sliding their way down the long driveway, they drove down the mountain and returned to (somewhat warmer) home. I don't know if they'll go back to the mountains again next year, but if they do, it's a sure bet they'll take Kirsten. As they say here in les États-Unis, "Third time's a charm".
À Bientôt?Love, Lucie et Juliette
